Association of Test Publishers Elects Questionmark CEO Eric Shepherd to Top Post of European Division

Norwalk, CT - December 21, 2006 - The Association of Test Publishers (ATP) has elected Questionmark CEO Eric Shepherd to chair its new European division.

ATP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of professionally developed and administered tests and assessments in education, clinical and corporate settings and in certification and licensing programs.

As CEO of testing and assessment software provider Questionmark, Shepherd has advised organizations worldwide on the deployment of assessments and assessment technology. A frequent public speaker on assessment topics, Shepherd was instrumental in developing the IMS Global Learning Consortium’s Question and Test Interoperability standard.

Shepherd will serve a one-year term as chairperson of ATP’s newly created European division. In addition to supporting its members’ interests in legal, regulatory and professional matters, ATP’s European division promotes generally accepted guidelines for psychometrics, test delivery, test security, e-testing, interoperability, privacy, test adaptation, localization and other areas related to the testing process.

“I am delighted and grateful for this opportunity to work with the European testing community and build upon ATP’s successful pattern of advocacy, education and standards initiatives,” Shepherd commented. “With the increasing importance of testing and assessment in education, business and government, the ATP has a vital role to play.”
