Presenter: David J A Lewis - University of Glamorgan

Title: Deploying and Using a Blackboard-integrated Questionmark Module Evaluation System

Synopsis: When looking to improve its Module Evaluation system, the University of Glamorgan looked first at Perception, as a way of implementing an interactive solution.  Based on a presentation at the 2007 Academic Symposium, Glamorgan looked at how their Blackboard system could provide a gateway for both students and tutors to take and report on evaluations.  Using a dedicated Perception system, a Blackboard Building Block provides ease of use for both students and tutors, and has considerably enhanced the collection and reporting of this data.  Instantaneous language transfer from English to Welsh is key component, as is the ability to deliver different evaluations to different groups.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Better understand the integration issues between Perception and Blackboard.
  • Be informed as to strategies to improve and accommodate different forms of evaluation.
  • See a demonstration of the system in action, as a student, academic, with bi-lingual form completion, and simplified reporting.
